    Hi,
ever had Frikadellen (german meatballs). Not the shop bought ones as they taste awful! Anyway, if you want to give them a try, here is a nice recipe for you:

    250g Beef mince
    250g Pork mince
    1-2 Onions
    1 Egg
1 slice of white/brown bread or a handful of fresh breadcrumbs
    1 tsp Pepper
    1 tsp Salt
    1 tsp Paprika

Using your hands mix it all together and form burgers, then fry of at medium heat in frying pan. You can put some bacon bits in the pan to add some extra flavour.
    Enjoy!

    Hi Pebbles,

sounds like a good recipe, but I’d add mustard and if you use old bread (no kidding, old and hard and then put it in a cup of milk) and I also always put in 1 or 2 eggs.

There are zillions of good Bouletten / Frikadellen recipes out there in the world ;-)

    R~

    Cheers
    Rolf

Hey, that sound good too! What I normally do is soak the bread in some water and then squeeze the excess out again. Makes them a little bit more fluffy! This is the way my granny used to make them, but I am always up for new ideas. Danke!

That works well Pebbles, my mother always did that. If you change the mustard for passata, you get Swedish meatballs!

yummy, swedisch meatballs - and I never make big meatballs - they need to be small. I use a full tablespoon for that. and you can think of rolling them either in flour or in breadcrums before frying them - hell of a piece of work all those little meatballs - but I love it! My mother has Swedish Meatballs for her EggNogg Party on Sunday - I’ll ask her what she does to make them so “Swedish” ;-)

    Bitte ;-)

It’s the sweetness, the tomatoiness and smallness.

    delicousness …

  • 28 novembre 2008

Indeed, I love swedish meatballs, I’m ashamed that I like them more thatn Boulletten…

  • 28 novembre 2008

never mind, however the big difference: Bouletten I can eat cold from the fridge - Swedish Meatballs need to be fresh and hot …;-)
