  Hello all expats in Hamburg. I am and American in Germany currently looking for a job in Hamburg, and am wondering about where the best online place is, where I can look for a place to live that is temporary, like a sublet. Thank you for all your help!

  Finding a flat in Hamburg is notoriously tough. A lot depends on how picky you are about the area. If you will live anywhere then it may be ok. If you want to live somwhere like St Pauli or Schanze, then you’ll need some luck. So good luck, you may well need it!

  Well, I’m ultra-picky and personally wouldn’t live east or north of the Alster or west of Altona, but I would certainly recommend you to stay away from going south of the Elbe :)

  I recommend Rotherbaum big grin, I love it here. Personally I wouldn’t like to live in Billstedt or Harburg…
