In an area where pubs are closing down .Its nice to find one that as a really good atmosphere, its one of those pubs where it dont take long before someone starts to chat to you,They have a pool table and a large screen and free sandwiches are put out during the day,There DJs monday and friday evenings and theres the monday club with reduced prices.Prices are average for the area,Sadly there is no real ale,and the staff are friendly.all in all its a real pub and sadly we are losing to many,

Well I give this 4 stars but that is being a little mean, but thats me,This is a lovely cosy place it can only seat about 13 people, but I have never had a problem getting served ,Very nice for a romatic meal. very nice staff and the food is very very good,it is licenced and the drinks are average prices.to be totally honest I have paid double in N16,I would recommend this place to anyone. They also have a home delivery service,

General Browning M O T H Club - Hackney
Valette Street, Old Trades Hall, London E9 6NU

I have been a member of this club for some months, and sadly its struggling for new members, and faces closure.the club is used by many locals and provides an old style atmosphere whereby everybody knows eachother.I understand that several members work for the club for free,.there is of course bingo on a wednesday night. The drinks are reasonably priced and you can book a Sunday roast lunch.
It as a great atmosphere, sadly theres no real ale.there is a large bar which is available for hire.there is a dart team.it hard to say more except its more for the senior age group.membership is very cheap.so please consider paying a visit and maybe joining.lets not lose another place to go to

another great market biting the dust, i lived and still do live very close to the waste, when i was so busy, great stalls selling used paperback books, coins, and toy stalls, my father would never walk me down there on saturdays as it would cost him, there were some great jewish menswear shops, franks and connicks, all gone now the shops are mainly food, kebabs ect, there are no real stalls as such ,when i was there last week people where just laying out an assortment of secondhand goods on the pavement. and I recall when there was an apple fritter stall.sadly all gone now,I wouldnt know where to get an apple fritter now.there was a great chippy there Franks, always good, now there.s falkeners good I agree but very expensive, well times change and the whole area is being built up,
DODGERN Do you remember the Glass and Stainless Steel stall that sold Hot Sarsaparilla in all different flavours and colours? Ideal on cold Saturday mornings with a bag of Hot Chestnuts!

A very big improvement as taken place here since I last took the time to review it.There are now some very friendly staff, who are very efficient.and unlike a lot of the pubs in this chain actually remember your drink.as with all these pubs the drinks are cheap, and the food reasonable.and I was reconised as a qyper by none other than a ex Bay City Roller.who I guess would be fairly funny if he was drinking still,The biggest downfall here,is the toilets are upstairs, and the doorman on a Friday night, have thier own silly rules, which do not apply the rest of the week, but it adds to the entertainment.

Well I had hoped for more,as previously stated toilets were filthy.and the floor flooded,as with all wetherspoons the ales cheap,I avoid eating in this place as on two occassions I have had to send it back.but the thing that gets to me is
Staff with no manners

This pub took me by surprise, its a long time since I visited such a busy pub on a Friday Lunchtime.absolutely packed, and It doesnt appear to be a one off,it sells a good selection of everything, including real ales, and the food menu looked good, The service was exceptional considering how busy it was,Its as a really big beer garden and car park.but im glad to say I went there by train,as my car would have stood out parked between convertable Bentlys and convertabl mini,s anyhow its only a few minutes from the station.I think this is one of the best pubs I have been to for a long time
