The lusty Lady - San Francisco

Worlds best peep show? definitely!
I was lucky enough to be company sponsored a trip to this peep joint while in town; I had heard so much about this place and it didn’t disappoint.
This cheeky in-famous feminist and unionized peep show venue is a must for the traveling deviant passing through San-Fran.
The ladies are awesome, its open 24hrs and the peeps are a $1 (whey-hey!)
I personally recommend the VIP booths which are new but with a large staff of around 50 ladies rotating the roster the variety on stage is excellent too.
Best bit? $1 peeps and performers who obviously enjoy their job.
silkroad - Melbourne
Collins St 425, 3000 Melbourne

Located not on the ‘Paris’ end of Collins street this fancy bar attempts to capture the famous silk road trade route within a drinking establishment. Personally I don’t see it although there is a lot of faux asian stuff that white people seem to love and chandeliers and gilt that would make any 18 century italian proud…(think asian-italian fusion on steroids = presto magic… silk road)
This lines are long on weekends but who cares your rubbing shoulders with celebrities (or at least people who had bit parts on neighbors a decade ago).
Expect burn your way through at least $300 trying to have a half decent drink-a-thon + entry.
Plus side? – People watching is fab, the club hostess is a major hottie and the drinks and table service is excellent.
Jos Fritz Café - Freiburg
Wilhelmstr. 15, 79098 Freiburg

Sometimes when you find a place so good it can be tempting to keep it to yourself- but not sharing this gem of a cafe/bar would be a crime as this is Freiburgs number 1 Queer bar/café/performance space that promises great coffee, 2 monthly girl only events as well as regular local gay community mixers.
It’s a little piece of Darlinghurst Sydney right in the middle of Freiburg :)
Great atmosphere, service, coffee (that come in big handless bowl like mugs that need to be cradled with two hands to sip from-Mmmmm) Jos Fritz also has a great outdoor garden with comfy chairs and plenty of seating with blankets for smokers to warm themselves with so they don’t freeze having a smoke.
Access is through the Jos Fritz bookstore during the daytime (same name different owners although also Sappric owned.) or come around the side alley from morning through night.

Great venue and a nice change for a different night out.
Check out the website for a list of upcoming gigs played here.
Worth knowing-They also do a girls only night here monthly for all the sapphic sisters out there :)
Naturerlebnispark Mundenhof - Freiburg

A rather big animal park and very cheap too! Perfect for a day out with kids that you want to keep entertained and tire out so they’ll sleep soundly and early on the weekend :)
The animals tend to be in more open cages here then a regular zoo and with the exception of the two brown bear in a rather sad small enclosure non of the animals here are dangerous.
Theres bike tracks so you can cycle you way around from animal to animal area but on the weekends this can be tricky with all the families , prams and children you have to dodge.
The Playground is one of the better ones I’ve seen in Germany for kids and the Meerkats are alone worth visiting the Munenhof to see!
Some of the animals I saw include
-Camels
-Pigs
-Goats
-Ox
-Cows
-Horses
-Bison
-Bunnies
-Monkeys
-Australian birds
-Meerkats
-Turtles
The Aquarium is a bit lame-I also think it’s odd that they allow people to bring their dogs in here as in my opinion it’s upsetting for the animals
The Monkey enclosure is a bit of a worry also as it had a electric fence only inches behind the main fence that more then a few little kids could help but touch and were given quite a nasty shock and left screaming in tears for trying to touch the cute little monkeys- clearly the kids aren’t as clever as the monkys who know not to touch it :)
Not a bad day out if you have kids- if you don’t visit on a weekend and bring your bike for a less boring veiwing.
aLii lol, it must be pretty funny to just sit and wait for the next kid to touch the wire…

Amazing!!!! the best asian shop that I’ve found in Germany happens to be in my city!! this place is huge and has all your ‘real’ asian grocery Items covered- big points for the variety- Indonesian, Thai, Indian, Japanese chinese, Turkish, Middle eastern, Vietnamese, etc they have you covered- The fresh food grocer was a let down not because of the variety but the freshness I thought could have been better and the meat selection doesn’t exactly look as Halal as it claims…
Still not only can you buy the ingredients to recreate all your asian classics but also the kitchenware and more to help you.
Fresh-Master Hey, I want to say that the meat is Halal, I asked them and they show me the bill.

Comfy sofas and you can still smoke in here-I think this bar didn’t get the memo that you actually aren’t allowed to smoke inside anymore..ha ha-
I personally found it easy to get to the bar and actually spent most of the night sitting at it-the bartender Sasha is a wicked bloke and makes a mean Gin&Tonic :)
Watch your bag though- I had some things stolen out of mine that night from our pile of stuff left on the sofa from our group- :(
Pony & Kleid - St. Pauli

After 2 very bad hair cuts already in Germany I’d pretty much had given up on getting a half decent and somewhat edgy haircut in Germany. The last place I went to had massacred my existing sharp Bettie page fringe that had only needed a very simple trim- The results looked like I had been on a play-date with a shears welding two year old instead of a hairdresser-I desperately needed to find someone with steady hands and that was half competent to fix my fringe disaster.
So on my road trip to the north sea I made a detour and stopped in at Pony & Kleid knowing that at least my Hairdresser would speak English.
Not only is Pony and Kleid a great little hairdresser in st Pauli but it has kick ass second hand pieces and one off designs by local talent- I didn’t need an appointment which was brilliant- My wonderful hairdresser not only fixed my fringe but also insisted that I not worry about paying and that I just promise to not let anyone else cut my hair in germany and save my haircuts for my visits to Hamburg-
Done Deal! very happy customer :)

Tucked away in the black forest this is the prefect hotel to come and get away from 'whatever it is your trying to get away from'
The first thing I should write before I go any futher is 'Your mobile phone will not work in the hotel!' You will have to walk more then 1km down the road or go hiking up one of the trails around the hotel to find reception- I say this now as nobody warned me when I went to spend C'mas and New Years here so I spend 3 of the 8 days I spent here unreachable by family and loved ones back home :-( and finally someone told me where I could find reception.
This place is really beautiful all year around but Winter and summer are my favorites with ice and snow turning it into a winter wonderland around C'mas and during summer blueberries and blackberries grow everywhere and the neighbouring winneries are just getting ready for grape picking season.
The hotel is about 40 rooms big and the rooms although not the biggest hotel rooms I've come across are comfy and well sized (plus you won't want to be spending much time in your room here anyways) the mini bar can be stocked to your requirement all you need to do is order.
Brunch is served in the hotels Breakfast room which during summer opens up for outdoor seating so that you can enjoy all the unusal amount of sun this part of Germany gets- and the Brunch here is the best I've had in Germany HUGE sellection and REAL breakfast items as well....so alot more then just your usual cheese and cold meat stuff.
Actually pretty much everything I've eaten in this hotel is fantastic... they have a really good chef and the meals here are usually 3-4 course (unless it's new years and C'mas and in those cases we had a menu that went on for hours and hours with the last dish desert being served at 11pm)
The wine list is really extensive too as we're in the middle of Germany best wine region and the owners are friends with many of the wine making familes aroudn here and of course France is only half and hour drive from here so you pretty much have no reason to drink out of the regional wine list.
The dayspa has a sunbed, massage rooms, beauty therapy (They use Thalgo here), waxing and lounges to relax and read on... a huge swimming pool which is heated all year around- a wirlpool and a three room sauna area with nordic sauna, wet sauna and a cooler tempture wet sauna for kids.
For things to do around the area while staying at the hotel- there's a huge selection of forest trails for cycling or walking plus wineries to visit and day trips into France and Freiburg are very easy.
The Owners (Holgar and Yara Weber) are great people, extremely friendly and helpful as are their staff.

When you too lazy to go anywhere else... This is where you go as pretty much it's the first thing I see when I walk into Freiburg... near the uni cafe and it has comfy lounges.
On a bad day the staff can be rude the food average the coffee almost always bad....yet you still come back as your lazy it's easy to find so it makes it the perfect meeting point when meeting friends...for all these reasons Aspekt is almost always full.
