J’avais rendez-vous en face pour assister à un concert de Camille. Je me pose là avec ma chérie, je prends un cocktail, ma belle demande un chocolat.
Service au comptoir ultra-méga long, mais excusé car le cocktail etait bien reussi, mais le chocolat chaud : quel desastre.. un vulgaire Cadbury à l’eau… Un drop de lait et un peu de sucre aurait pu faire l’affaire.. Passons..
Ambiance sympathique; bonne bande son, les canapés sont agréables, confortables car bien profonds. Mais la couleur rouge des murs et les chandeliers diffusant une lumière tamisée donnent un coté porno glauque a l endroit… Cela m’a amusé… pas vous?

first contact with the place was on a Sunday, three weeks ago.. it was closed.. Frustrated I was.. I came back the next monday with friend who recommended me the place. He was right. The place was full. Cosy interiors, with brilliant memorabilia : cow bells, Swiss horns hanging on the wall… Warm atmosphere, and smell of cheese all over the place.
Food wise, went for a fondue, not the French Alps one I am familiar with, but the Swiss-kind.. The difference lays in the local Swiss cheese they use here. And they are different type of Fondue. We had a go on the brillant “viande des grisons” as a snack (delicious)... Very Good proportion, the three of us struggle to finish the fondue. This evening in Switzerland was delightful.. tell me, was it snow I spotted by the window ?

Tips / on weekends, book-ahead, at least a week if you wish to take your love one out on friday or sat nights.

Definitely has a “whao” factor the first time you come in via the tube station.. went there on a weekday, average attendance, nice atmosphere… many spots were to seat and chat with your guest. And if you are really bored chatting, well look around and explore the venue. THe place is huge, with diverse live arty performances..
I ll get back there on a weekend, just to see how the wildness of the place.

J’y suis alle hier soir avec deux amies americaines de passage. Elles voulaient un burger… j ai trouve cette endroit “cliche” a la deco tres 60’s. Ce n est pas un restaurant, mais un fast food a l ancienne.
TOut se passe au comptoir. L endroit est un peu bruyant (musique), et il est difficile de mener une conversation etant assis a 3 alignes au comptoir.. Toutefois les burgers etaient pas mal. avec de vraies grosses frites jaunes. Ca change des pommes allumettes du McDo.
Mes “Ricaines” ont apprecie ce “decallage londonais”.
Un detail de la carte a fait mouche: Ed’s propose de la “Root Beer” comme la-bas.
Le staff etait plaisant, sans exces.. Et pour une fois nous n avons pas ete pousse a la sortie des l hambourgeois anglouti… bon point pour Ed’s

it is not a restaurant, though one would find a couple of tables here and there, but consider Abokado as a “step in - take out” place. I tried the “Vegetable dumplings Gyoza Noodles” as take away lunch.
You take your box, bring it at the counter, a clerk fills it up with a hot broth, and by the time you re sitted at your office, the soup is ready.
It is fresh and smells good and taste good.
Was pleased by this first impression.
I ll try the sushi take away soon..

Real Greek ? well..not in the atmosphere… If you expect Sirtaki and Ouzo.. white and blue paint all over the venue.. well.. it is not here you ll find those…

Nice location (Bow st X Long acre).
Traditional pub venue converted into a restaurant. High celling, large windows, meaning plenty of light…
Many tables.. very tall and narrow top, with super high chairs / benchs. Narrow tables mean that you re super close to your eating-partner. It gives a sense of intimacy that i liked.
I appreciated the “Plate-rack” on which the “mezethes” are served.

Now the food.. tried a “meat sharer” which is a combination of 6 plates i think: skewers, meatballs, red pepper paste, aubergine puree + a side (chips or salade).
Adding a coke and a beer : about £30 for 2.

deserved 4 stars IF : the waitress hadn’t had pressured us to pay and leave… but i must admit.. 90mn for a lunch might have been too much… .

Pizza sont correctes, prefere la terrasse les jours de beau temps, car c est un poil bruyant a l interieur en raison de la hauteur du plafond.. et de la popularite de l endroit. Clientelle ouest parisienne et familiale.
